Rites of Passage and Empowerment Program's fall retreat in Hancock. The two-day retreat provided an overview of fall activities, a mix of workshops and events designed to foster empowerment among the young women. It also provided an opportunity for them to form bonds with each other.

At the annual meeting for the Board of Trustees at the Norman Rockwell Museum in September with Ms. Barbara Henry, the first-grade teacher of Ruby Bridges. As a child, Ms. Bridges was instrumental in the desegration of schools in New Orleans. Norman Rockwell's painting, "The Problem We All Live With," is a depiction of a young Ruby, flanked by marshals, on her way to school.

Celebrate the Berkshires, an awards ceremony sponsored by 1Berkshires, was held Thursday, Sept. 10. Roberta McCulloch-Dews was selected as a finalist for the Berkshire Trendsetter Award - Changemaker under 40. Fellow finalists included Senator Benjamin Downing (winner), Jesse Cook-Dubin, and Adam Hinds.
